Monetary Policy Committee keeps interest rates on hold

Banks still reluctant to lend

Banks that have received bail-out support from the government are still unwilling to lend money to businesses, a House of Commons committee has claimed.

Base rate freeze until 2016?

Poor payment still the number business concern

Almost a quarter (23%) of respondents to the survey selected late payment and subsequently poor cash flow as their ‘key issue’ – more than those who voted for a lack of sales (20%), and complying with health and safety regulations (11%).
